In German folklore, during the Christmas season, Krampus is a horned beast who punishes children who have misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards good children with gifts. The documentary points out why the fur covered beast Krampus is fascinating to young people and gives a glimpse of the Krampus runs that combine male masquerade, initiation rites, mating behavior, ritual beatings and long standing tradition.
